Q.  How many rounds are there in NEET Counselling 2024?

NEET Counselling 2024 consists of four rounds:

Round 1:

This initial round allows candidates to select their preferred colleges and courses.

Round 2:

Conducted for seats that remain vacant after the completion of Round 1.

Mop-Up Round:

This round is for filling seats that are still unoccupied after Round 2.

Stray Vacancy Round:

The final round is aimed at filling any remaining seats.

Q.  What are All-India Quota (AIQ) and State Quota seats in NEET UG?

All-India Quota (AIQ):

AIQ refers to 15% of the total seats in government medical colleges across India, filled through centralized counseling conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC).

Competition:

AIQ seats are highly competitive due to the limited number available.

Admission Basis:

Admission through AIQ is based solely on NEET UG scores.

State Quota Seats:

The remaining 85% of seats in government medical colleges are reserved for candidates domiciled in the respective state.

Counselling:

State quota counseling is usually conducted by the state authorities.

Admission Criteria:

Criteria can vary from state to state but generally involve NEET UG scores and state-specific domicile requirements.

Important Points to Remember:

Dual Participation:

Candidates can participate in both AIQ and state quota counseling if eligible.

Cut-Off Differences:

The cut-off for AIQ seats is typically higher than for state quota seats.

Reservation Policy:

Reservation policies for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PWD categories apply to both AIQ and state quota seats.
