Understanding the NEET UG Syllabus: A Comprehensive Guide for 2025

A brief on the significance of The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is a landmark medical entrance examination followed by over one-million individuals who aspire to see themselves as doctors in the future. NEET Exam Pattern 2025

The NEET exam pattern remains consistent in assessing candidates' knowledge in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The exam comprises 200 multiple-choice questions (MCQs), of which candidates must answer 180. Here's a breakdown:

Total Marks: 720
Biology: 360 marks (divided into Zoology and Botany)
Physics: 180 marks
Chemistry: 180 marks
Correct answers yield 4 marks, while incorrect answers result in a 1-mark deduction. Unanswered questions do not affect the score, but selecting multiple responses will lead to a penalty.

The NEET 2016 paper found itself locked in the minds of students for its infamous Physics section, containing an assortment of tough numerical-centered questions that demanded strong conceptual knowledge. It is necessary in physics, but you can not underestimate it if we consider this historical background.

As per NEET 2023 results, Prabanjan J and Bora Varun Chakravarthi hit a double six as they ended up with a perfect 720 on the exam. They also stressed over Physics section being the toughest and time-consuming which was parallel to the past few years' trend.

NEET 2025 Preparation

The NEET exam comprises three main subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. The Biology section is further split into Botany and Zoology. Key Highlights of NEET 2024

NEET 2024 exam date: May 05, 2024

This is an offline examination mode that lasts for 200 Minutes (3 Hours and 20 minutes) ie from time to be announced starting in the morning shift as per Institution's official Notification.

Level of Difficulty: NEET is usually classified as medium to tough. Physics has been the most difficult section in recent years and Biology is often considered as one of the simplest.
