The NEET-PG is a combined eligibility and entrance test that is required as the only entrance exam for admission to different MD/MS and PG Diploma programs. No other entrance test, whether state- or institution-level, is acceptable to be admitted to PG/MD/MS programs.

 Admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs offered by various universities and institutions across the nation requires NEET-PG qualifying. Even for foreign nationals wishing to enroll in medical programs in India, the NEETPG is required.

 NEET-PG is also used for admissions to post-MBBS DNB courses, post-MBBS Direct 6-year DrNB courses, and NBEMS diploma programs.
