The Directorate General of Medical Education, under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Bangladesh, has announced the MBBS admission process for foreign students for the academic year 2024-25. A total of 221 seats are available in government medical colleges and dental units, with 117 reserved for SAARC countries, including 22 MBBS seats specifically for Indian students under the SAARC quota.

Important Details for Indian Students:

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A minimum combined GPA of 9.00 in the 10th and 12th-grade exams (on a 5-point scale).
  • At least a GPA of 4.00 in Biology (equivalent to 70% marks) in the 12th-grade or equivalent examination.

Application Process:

  • Fill out the application form (Annexure A) and gather all required documents.
  • Academic certificates and mark sheets must be attested by the Ministries of Education and Foreign Affairs of India and authenticated by the Bangladesh Embassy.
  • Submit applications through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in India by January 15, 2025.

Verification and Admission Timeline:

  • Verified documents will be sent to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bangladesh, by February 15, 2025, and forwarded to the Medical Education and Family Welfare Division by March 2, 2025.
  • Admissions will take place between April 15 and May 22, 2025.

Important Documents:

  • Recent passport-size photographs.
  • Passport.
  • Attested certificates and mark sheets of 10th and 12th-grade exams.

Additional Information:

  • No SAARC country student can apply under the Non-SAARC quota.
  • Original documents must be submitted at the time of admission.
  • Fabricated or false documents will lead to immediate cancellation and legal consequences.
