Moreover, many students need clarification about How To Apply For SAARC Scholarship For MBBS? Yearly, Bangladesh extends scholarships to students from SAARC countries, opening doors for them to pursue medical studies within its borders. Those fortunate enough to be selected for this scholarship are privileged to pay the same tuition fees as local students, a nominal amount of approximately 4000 Bangladeshi Taka per year.

The selection process for SAARC students is overseen by their respective Ministry of Education, ensuring a fair and transparent procedure. To be eligible for this opportunity, the selected candidates must have achieved a remarkable academic record, boasting more than 98 percent marks in their 12th-grade examinations. Notably, the medium of instruction in these medical institutions is English, providing an accessible and inclusive learning environment for students from diverse linguistic backgrounds.

Furthermore, Bangladesh's medical curriculum and institutions enjoy recognition from the World Health Organization, adding a global dimension to the quality of education these students receive. This not only makes it an enriching academic experience but also lays a solid foundation for their future careers in the field of medicine.

To get a detailed understanding, one needs to consider the following:

  • Every year, the Government of Bangladesh officially announces the commencement of admissions for international students in Government Medical and Dental Colleges under the SAARC quota.

  • For 2022-23, 216 seats have been earmarked for international students, with 117 seats allocated explicitly for SAARC countries and 99 seats designated for Non-SAARC countries, all under the auspices of the Bangladesh Government's scholarship program.

  • For those eager to apply, the process kicks off generally in February, with online applications accepted exclusively through http://foreignstudents.dgme.gov.bd/login and the official website www.dgme.gov.bd.

  • Aspiring candidates must boast an aggregate GPA of 8.0 on a GPA 5 scale for Government Medical/Dental Colleges/Dental Units. For Private Medical/Dental Colleges/Dental Units, a GPA of 7.0 on the GPA 5 scale is required, with a GPA of 4.0 in Biology in the HSC/A-level/equivalent examination in both cases.

Eligible applicants must then submit the attested documents to the Bangladesh mission to secure their visa. It's essential to note that any attempt to fabricate documents during the admission process may lead to the cancellation of admission and could be subject to legal repercussions.
