Topper-endorsed NEET 2024 preparation tips prove invaluable for students gearing up for the impending NEET 2024 Exam. Those inquiring about effective strategies for NEET UG 2024 can glean valuable advice from accomplished candidates of previous years.
How did Topper describe their NEET 2023 preparation journey, highlighting the key elements that led to their success?
The NEET 2023 AIR 5 rank holder said “Notably, I am primarily a classroom learner, dedicating my focus to in-class learning to minimize external study hours. My strategy revolves around attentive participation during the 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. classes, ensuring immediate clarification of doubts. Post classes, I adopt a relaxed approach, refraining from further study at home. Commencing my preparation in school, a pivotal factor in my success is the unwavering support from my family, friends, and my broader social circle. My parents played a crucial role. Their consistent support contributed significantly to my achievement.
Selecting the appropriate books and study materials has consistently posed a challenge for many NEET aspirants. In Topper’s opinion, what are some of the top recommended books for NEET preparation across the three sections and for overall readiness?
The 2022 AIR 2 NEET topper said “NEET, being an exam with a highly syllabus-oriented focus, particularly in the last three years, places significant importance on repeatedly referring to the NCERT book. For Physics, specifically for Mechanics, Electrostatics, and Modern Physics, in addition to NCERT, substantial emphasis is placed on practicing questions. Personally, I found HC Verma's book beneficial for Mechanics, Electrostatics, and Modern Physics. For Organic Chemistry, GRB Organic Chemistry by Himanshu Pandey proved to be a valuable resource in my preparation.
What was the approach on the day of the exam? Additionally, which sections did you find most challenging and easiest?
All India Rank 10 holder of NEET UG 2023 said “Given that biology is my forte, I opted to kickstart the exam with this section, swiftly completing it in a short timeframe. Following that, I tackled the physics section. I reserved the chemistry portion for the end, considering it my least confident area.”
Unlike adhering to a set schedule, most toppers found success as a more spontaneous and flexible learner. Their study routine was heavily influenced by their mood—if they felt inclined to study, they would, and if not, they would indulge in other activities. In the final week leading up to the exam, their focus shifted to reviewing textbooks and addressing any questions they had missed or found challenging. This comprised the extent of the additional preparation.
What advice do they have for future NEET aspirants, and could they share the strategies you employed to stay motivated during your exam days?
Hrishikesh, AIR 3 rank holder of NEET UG 2023 said in one interview “I have a few pieces of advice for aspiring NEET candidates:
Throughout your NEET 2023 preparation, did you encounter moments of self-doubt or challenges?
Dhruv, NEET UG 2023 topper said self-doubt was a constant companion, persisting even on the day of the NEET 2023 exam, both during the test and afterward. However, I refused to let self-doubt hinder my progress; the encouragement from those around me emphasized giving my best effort. In my own mindset, I recognized the importance of giving my utmost and maintaining unwavering sincerity.
How many hours did you dedicate to self-study, and in your perspective, what is more effective—coaching or self-study?
Parth, another NEET UG 2023 responded “Undoubtedly, self-study holds significance in a student's academic journey, regardless of their aspirations. However, in my view, having proper guidance is crucial to reaching those goals, and that's where coaching plays a pivotal role. I enrolled in classes at Allen for guidance. On average, my self-study routine spanned approximately 6-7 hours, but during the last month leading up to the exam, I intensified my efforts, dedicating 12-14 hours daily.”
