The West Bengal UG Medical and Dental Round 1 Provisional Allotment Results for 2024 will be published on 2nd September. Candidates who have participated in the first round of counseling can check their allotment status on the official counseling website. For those who secure a seat, it's crucial to follow the necessary steps for admission to ensure that their spot is confirmed.
Downloading Allotment Letters
Once the provisional allotment results are published, successful candidates can download their allotment letters from the official counseling website. This document is essential and must be presented at the allotted college for admission. The allotment letters will be available for download until the closure of the Round 1 admission schedule.
Admission Process and Required Documents
Candidates allotted a seat must attend the college within the specified schedule for Round 1 admission. When they visit the college, they need to bring the following:
Original Documents: These include the Class 12 certificate, Class 12 mark sheet, and domicile certificate (for state quota candidates). These documents are mandatory and must be presented at the time of admission.
Self-Attested Photocopies: Candidates should also bring one set of self-attested photocopies of all required documents.
Verified Slip and Allotment Letter: Both original and one set of self-attested photocopies of the successfully verified slip and allotment letter are necessary.
Passport-Size Photographs: Candidates must carry four recent passport-size photographs.
The college authorities will retain the original Class 12 certificate, mark sheet, and domicile certificate (for state quota candidates) and provide a receipt to the candidate for these documents. Caste certificates and ID cards are not required to be retained by the college.
Submission of Undertaking
All candidates must submit an undertaking declaring that they are not presently admitted to any college through AIQ (All India Quota) or SQ (State Quota) counseling in 2024 or earlier. This declaration must also be signed on the allotment letter.
Bond Requirements
Candidates must pay the requisite fee to the college during admission. Additionally, they need to submit a bond as part of the admission process:
Government Colleges: A discontinuation bond of Rs. 1 Lakh is required. This bond must be notarized on non-judicial stamp paper with demy paper of not less than Rs. 100.
Private Colleges: Candidates admitted to private colleges, trust colleges, or central institutes must provide a bond or bank guarantee as required by the respective college. The choice of bond or bank guarantee is left to the candidate's preference.
Special Instructions for Category and PwD Candidates
For candidates applying under reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/OBC A/OBC B/EWS), there are specific guidelines:
Unreserved Seats: If a candidate from a reserved category is allotted an unreserved seat based on their NEET UG 2024 score, they can still take admission even if they cannot produce their caste certificate. However, their category will be changed to unreserved for subsequent counseling rounds if they choose to participate.
Reserved Category Seats: If a candidate is allotted a seat under their reserved category but cannot provide the valid certificate, their category will be edited to unreserved, and their seat for this round will be canceled. They may participate in the next round only if they meet the unreserved cut-off.
Similar rules apply to PwD (Person with Disability) candidates:
Non-PwD Seats: If a PwD candidate is allotted a non-PwD seat but cannot produce the required PwD certificate from IPGMER Kolkata Medical Board, they can still be admitted, but their status will be changed to non-PwD for future rounds.
PwD Seats: If a PwD candidate is allotted a seat under the PwD quota but fails to provide a valid certificate, their status will be changed to non-PwD, and their seat for this round will be canceled. They may participate in the next round only if they qualify as a non-PwD candidate.
Admission Finalization and Seat Surrender
All admissions must be completed through the NIC server provided to the admitting colleges. Candidates must obtain a server-generated admission or cancellation letter; otherwise, their admission will not be considered valid, and the seat will be made available in the next round.
If a candidate wishes to surrender their seat after admission, they must personally visit the college to complete the process. A seat surrender slip will be generated through the NIC server, and the seat will then be available for the subsequent round.
A separate notice will be published soon regarding the schedule for seat surrender.
